Hello and welcome to the Outfitter's Forecast report for 2007.
We had a longer than expected winter in 2006-2007 which gave me concern about possible winter kill.
Although it was long it never really got very cold and the snow never got really deep in our WMU.
As well there was an abundance of food left on the ground from last year's harvest thus allowing the whitetails to winter well.
In January there were many heard of 20-30 deer seen in the fields of our WMU and some good sheds picked up in March.
In all the whitetails wintered very well with seemingly no effects from the extended winter.
We also saw an abundance of young deer last year which will be shooters this year.
The deer population in our WMU just keeps increasing which we are grateful for.
With all thus taken in to consideration I think we'lll have a great year at Trophy Quest.
We hope you are here to join us!
